growing bushfoods for health
Want to walk out the backdoor and pick your own flavour packed & nutrient dense native produce?
Come join us in our new Native Bushfood Garden at House of Hope and learn about growing your own bushfoods local to Sunshine Coast and the role of food and time in nature for mental health.
Workshop Overview
Join Veronica from Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery and discover the diverse selection of bushfoods you can grow here on the Sunshine Coast (Gubbi Gubbi / Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country).
Bushfood plants not only supply tasty, nutritional produce. They are stunning trees, shrubs, ground covers and vines that will turn your garden into a unique and beautiful sanctuary.
Veronica will share her love of growing native edibles and pass on planting, pruning, fertilising and general care tips to ensure your food forest rewards you with abundant produce.
Hear from local Psychologist and Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner Kristy Howard (In My Mother’s Kitchen) about the role of food and time in nature (aka food gardening) in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Explore our beautiful Native Bushfood Garden at House of Hope and sample fresh seasonal produce that will get your tastebuds tingling.
