Welcome to Nourishing Traditions: Women's East African Cooking and Self Care Workshop! Join us for a morning of learning, cooking, and self-care inspired by East African traditions. This in-person event will take place on Wednesday 7th August in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (West Woombye). During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn how to create authentic East African flavors, share a delicious recipe (vegetarian), and discover the importance of food and cooking as self-care practices in East African culture. Don't miss this unique opportunity to connect with other women, learn new skills, and nourish your body and soul. Come join us for a morning of fun, food, and self-care!
During this workshop Kagi from Ubuntu Living will show you how to prepare and cook a traditional East African meal as well as share with you the history of the meal and the cultural role of food and cooking as a form of self care and connection to self, others and the environment. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, prepare the spices and experience a shared cooking experience with other like-minded women in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
